Streets is an award winning youth group. We won the HVA volunteer team of the year award 2011.
Streets is for young people between the age of 12 – 17, we meet every Friday 18:00 – 20:00 using the back entrance of Christian Life Centre, the whole 2hrs is for games and chillin.
We have a cafe, pool, table tennis, air hockey, table football, Ps2 with arcade style dance mats and basketball/football court.
We run art workshops every other week, last term we had card making, pottery (Courtesy of Manic ceramics and the Youth Opportunity fund) We run football competitions almost every week.
Streets is a safe environment for young people to come, have fun and meet friends.
We also have a voluntary 10 minute God Spot at the end, giving young people a chance to ask about the Christian faith, why we believe and giving them an opportunity to allow Jesus to transform their lives.
We have consent forms for the event that parents need to sign, the first night we give the young person the form and allow them to stay. We expect the form to be signed and returned the second time they come. We have strict data protection procedures and keep this information for emergency purposes only.
We also have a code of conduct which was designed by young people and is aimed at what is acceptable behavior on the project.
Although the group is run by Christians we accept any young person regardless of their faith or background.
