As a church we are committed to serving the community around us. Our call is to show kindness, to support the disadvantaged, to demonstrate the love of God in generous serving and unconditional mercy.

This isn’t an add-on to church life; it’s integral!

Below is the growing list of areas where we support the local community:

Marthas Kitchen: We open the building on a Thursday between 6pm – 7pm and serve a hot meal to the homeless and needy. This is free. We also provide a safe place for them to talk, where every possible we point them in the right direction for support from the local council and other organizations. We can also provide sleeping bags, socks, pants and other items that may be needed.

Streets: This is our Friday night youth group, we open the back of the building for 12-17 year old’s from the community.

Taste & See: This is our monthly meal for the over 60′s, trips are also arranged.

Beaumont Community area group: We sit on the local community area group board and are privileged to work with them in looking after our local park and arranging community events.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP): is a national debt counseling charity working through a network of centres based in local churches. In January 2010 Challenge Community Church, in partnership with Christian Life Centre and St James’, opened a CAP Centre which is based at 40 Belmont Road, Hereford HR2 7JW.

We actively encourage our members to get involved in the community and hope to continue to set up projects through them in the future. Should you want to set up a project or get involved please contact the office.
